At VS One World, we believe in the power of education and the importance of giving back to our communities. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, we recently had the opportunity to support Suriyagama Primary School in Habarana, a rural school with underprivileged students, by providing essential school supplies.
This initiative was made even more meaningful as it was requested by Mrs. Kumari, the dedicated principal of Suriyagama Primary School, who has been tirelessly working to improve the school and provide better opportunities for her students. Her passion and commitment to ensuring the children receive quality education inspired us to take action and support her vision.
On 1st February 2025, our team visited Suriyagama Primary School with a mission to equip students with school books, stationery, school bags, shoes, and socks, ensuring they have the necessary resources to continue their education with confidence. For many of these children, receiving these basic essentials is not just about material support—it’s about giving them the motivation to dream bigger and strive for a brighter future.
A Warm Welcome and Thoughtful Hospitality
Upon our arrival at Suriyagama Primary School, we were greeted with a warm and heartfelt welcome from the principal, teachers, students, and parents. Their smiles, gratitude, and excitement made us feel truly honored to be part of their journey.
As a gesture of appreciation, the school had arranged a delicious breakfast for our team. This thoughtful hospitality gave us the opportunity to interact with the school community and understand their challenges and aspirations better.
The Main Function: Celebration, Gratitude, and Giving Back
After breakfast, the main function commenced, beautifully organized by the school.
Principal’s Speech: The event began with a warm welcome speech from the principal, Mrs. Kumari, who expressed her deep gratitude to VS One World for stepping forward to support the school and its students. During her speech, she also extended her special thanks to Mrs. Chathuri Kaluthanthri for making this connection possible, ensuring that the students received much-needed assistance.

She spoke about the struggles families face in providing basic school supplies for their children, emphasizing how challenging it is for them to accommodate these costs amid their daily financial hardships. She expressed profound gratitude to VS One World, highlighting how this initiative not only provided material support but also gave their children hope and encouragement to continue their education.
