The Ministry of Defense (MOD) Headquarters in Akuregode, Sri Lanka, is a testament to the country’s commitment to consolidating its defense forces under one roof. Inspired by leading defense establishments worldwide, such as the Pentagon, this is probably the largest building construction project undertaken by the Government of Sri Lanka, with a construction cost estimated at half a billion dollars.
The Challenge
The objective was to bring the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, and Airforce together in one location. The size, complexity, and security requirements of this project demanded an exceptional technology solution, particularly for Extra Low Voltage (ELV) services.
The Solution
Following a competitive bidding process, VS ONE was selected to deploy the complete ELV services for the MOD Headquarters building. Our scope included Local Area Network (LAN) and Data Center switching, Network Security, Access Control, IP Camera Surveillance with Video Analytics, IP TV, Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), and Building Management System (BMS).
The Approach
Working closely with world-leading manufacturers, we developed and implemented a solution that met the demanding requirements of the MOD Headquarters building. Our team leveraged its global expertise and innovative technologies to ensure seamless integration of all services.

The successful completion of this project has set a new benchmark for technology integration in large-scale defense establishments. The MOD Headquarters now enjoys a robust and secure technological infrastructure, paving the way for efficient and cohesive operations of Sri Lanka’s defense forces.
